The Logistics Coordinator works closely with all MSH projects in Southern Sudan to provide technical assistance in the design, development and implementation of the Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS). S/he designs, develops and implements systems (travel & inventory) to manage logistics functions in support of the MSH projects; s/he trains and ensures availability of the required communication resources and their proper allocation and utilization. S/he provides clear guidance on logistic issues and reports them to the Director of Finance & Contracts.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Provides logistic support to the team relative to travel arrangements, pick-up and drop-off services, hotel reservations, etc.
2. Manages communication equipment and trains staff on radio protocol. Maintains communication security telephone tree.
3. Maintains the inventory management system (IMS) for SHTP II and TBCAP projects.
4. Works closely with WFP, UN/OCHA, and other UN agencies on travel and logistical matters.
5. Expeditor service with visas, work permits, and arm escorts and other related GoSS procedures.
6. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with emphasis in Information Technology. Master’s degree desired.
2. Project management skills and knowledge of LMIS.
3. Ability to develop systems using a relational database management system.
4. Minimum of five years’ experience working with large databases.
5. Leadership skills, integrity, and commitment to professional responsibility.
6. A self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, work both independently and within a team, and develop a new project in a dynamic environment.
7. Systems and users information requirement analysis skills.
8. Good report writing, presentation and communication skills.
9. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications, teamwork and partnering abilities.
10. Experience leading teams and supervising staff.
11. Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
12. Fluency in English required.
