Overview

The General Assistant provides cleaning services at the central office, assists as a receptionist and performs clerical duties as assigned. 

 

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Clean all project offices, meeting rooms and common areas on daily basis and empty all waste paper bins at the beginning and end of each day.
  2. Ensure that all bathrooms, including toilet pans, sinks, floors and hand towels are clean and have adequate supplies.
  3. Ensure that the kitchen, appliances, pantry and kitchen/dish towels are kept clean and tidy.
  4. Clean windows on weekly basis.
  5. Attend to the reception in the absence of the Operations Coordinator including answering phones and attending to visitors.
  6. Perform clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, binding, serving refreshments.
  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Malawi School Certificate of Education with 2 years working experience.
  2. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  3. Experience in cleaning and clerical work.
  4. Experience in reception work.
  5. Willingness to irregular hours as occasions demand.
