Overview

MSH is seeking a Senior HSS Advisor for a potential five-year USAID/Bangladesh Zero TB Cities project (BZTP). In line with the Bangladesh TB National Strategic plan (NSP) the objective of the BZTP is to decrease TB deaths through increased diagnosis and treatment coverage in selected urban areas. Partnering with the National TB Program and city corporations, the project will co-create health systems strengthening activities with our counterparts to support the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and City Corporations to implement an effective and responsive urban TB program.

This position is subject to project award and funding.

Specific Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, be responsible for the design and implementation of the HSS activities (i.e. leadership, management, governance, health financing, health information systems, human resource management, social inclusion and accountability, advocacy). These HSS activities will support the delivery of quality TB services by government, private and/or community providers and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Qualifications and Experience

  • A PhD or Master’s degree in health systems, public health or an equivalent field.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience working on projects related to strengthening HSS with at least five (5) of these years working on health systems strengthening.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HSS areas, coaching, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners on collaborative projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior Government personnel, international organizations, NGO partners, the private health sector, and U.S. Government Agencies.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.
  • Working knowledge of the TB program strongly desired.
