Overview

The Market Dynamics Principal Technical Advisor will contribute primarily to the area of health technologies (LMICs) and other innovative product introduction and scale up, and equitable access in low and middle income countries by conducting market and strategic analysis that inform program design, production introduction strategies and interventions.  This position will be responsible for designing and conducting global and/or country-level strategic analyses that include both quantitative and qualitative supply and demand data, with a particular emphasis on the design of interventions that influence affordability and accessibility of health technologies and products in LMICs.

 

This is a part-time position at 60% level of effort (24 hours/week).

Specific Responsibilities

Project management/Technical Assistance (65%)

  • Lead design and implementation of market analysis, market dynamics, product introduction technical assistance and reporting writing
  • Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative analysis/research in the area of product introduction, market analysis, and market dynamics
  • Manage complex market and strategic analysis projects

Business Development Support (35%)

  • Contribute to proposal development in the area of health technologies, product introduction, market dynamics and analysis
  • Contribute to strategic landscape analysis in relevant field to support program design and development as required

Qualifications and Experience

Education 

Required:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, management, health economics, or finance disciplines.

Experience

Required: 

  • Eight (8) years of experience in managing complex analytical, market dynamics, finance, and strategy projects targeted low and middle income countries

Preferred: 

  • Twelve years of experience in qualitative and quantitative market analysis, market dynamics interventions, system analysis, and management or strategic consulting in relevant field
  • Extensive experience in program development relevant to public health in low and middle income countries
  • Experience in working with product development partnerships or private sector manufacturers of health technologies, health commodities, and/or pharmaceuticals
  • Track record of publication of reports, articles, white papers on relevant topics

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Advanced knowledge of market analysis concepts, analytical tools, and methods.
  • Superior analytical skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, with the ability to autonomously conduct evaluations and assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization.
  • Superior English verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on visual depiction of insights and ideas.

Competencies 

  • Demonstrated system, strategic, and/or market analysis capabilities
  • Demonstrated program design and management capabilities targeted in low and middle income countries

Physical Demands 

  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally about 10% to 20% of the time as needed.
  • Keyboard use, pulling drawers, lifting papers <10lbs.
