Overview

The Site Engineer will be the main technical adviser on a construction site to subcontractors, crafts people and operatives, conducting condition assessment of buildings for renovations and preparing bills of quantities. Checking plans, drawings, and surveying the site. Ensuring that all materials used and work performed is as per specifications.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives.
  • Conduct condition assessment of buildings for renovations and preparing bills of quantities.
  • Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
  • Ensure that all materials used and work performed is as per specifications.
  • Oversee selection and requisition of materials and plant
  • Manage, monitor and interpret contract design documents
  • Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
  • Plan the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in Renovation Work especially Health facilities a Must
  • 5 years’ Experience in Construction and Installation of Prefabricated Buildings.
  • Experience with USAID or Donor funded Projects will be an added advantage
  • Team Player
  • Be prepared to work under pressure
  • Self-starter.
