  • Overview

    The Digital Health, Web and Data Officer supports the implementation of the electronic health information technology for integrated digital health innovative initiative for TB services and learning. eHealth & eLearning Manager  and MSH IT unit in collaboration with ALERT Training center are working to improve the quality of TB care by introducing digital health technologies. He /She is responsible to ASSIST electronic MDR TB (DHIS 2) , digital health system , mHealth and eLearning , ALERT Center Website improvement and overall digital health initiative by USAID / Challenge TB / MSH. Hence in close collaboration with the above units He/She is responsible for assisting the above initiative. The base station for the assignment will be Addis Ababa , ALERT Training center.

    Specific Responsibilities

    1. Perform health facility information entry related to DHIS 2 MDR – TB register database as well as patients’ dat
    2. Monitor the day to day data entry, and request from health facilities and MDR TB register databas
    3. Support implementation  and  functionality  of  mHealth  /  digital  health  system  for TB  drug  treatment adherence system.
    4. Assist DHIS 2 data management system for CTB implementation regions
    5. Assist Digital health initiatives for TB service and Teleradiology innovative approach in ALERT center.
    6. Assist interactive web site of ALERT center and eLearning portal.
    7. Assist video conferencing based TB blended learning training
    8. Support a video conferencing based Telemedicine of MDR-TB Patients case consultati
    9. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
    10. Report technical activities weekly and any suspicious dangers immediately to the ICT Manager


    Qualifications and Experience

    • Sc in Health Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or related fields with
    • 2+ years’ of relevant experience.
    • Experience of  using  or  supporting  e-Health  and  m-Health,  Internet  &  Web  and  Video  conferencing technologies (POLYCOM, Wordpress ,…), database management (Preferably DHIS 2 ,My Sql , MS SQL ) and software development related to health required.
    • Knowledge of  Windows Server  OS , Web based application  , Programming skill (C#  , Java  , .net ), Computer networking (LAN , VPN & WAN)
    • Relevant work experience and knowledge in computer repair and troubleshooting required.
    • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
    • Excellent organizing and prioritizing skills, and attention to detail.
    • Previous USAID or other USG funded project experience is preferred.
    • Fluency in English and Amharic required.
    • Experience working in Ethiopian Health system is a plus.
